Provision concerning Liability and Non-liability of Bhutan Post in
respect of loss, theft and damage of EMS, Parcel and Registered
Article in the Domestic Service.

  1. EMS SERVICE
    1. In the event of total loss, total theft or total damage, the sender shall be entitled to an indemnity corresponding to the actual value of the total loss, total theft or total damage but not exceeding to an amount of Nu.500/- per article containing document and Nu.2,500/- per article containing valuable item plus repayment of all EMS charges.


    2. If an EMS article is partially lost, partially rifled or partially damaged, the sender shall be entitled to an indemnity corresponding to the actual value of the partial loss, partial damage but not exceeding to an amount of Nu.200/- per article containing document and Nu.1000/- per article containing valuable item plus repayment of all EMS charges.

    3. If delivery of an EMS item is not made within the standard laid down in Annexure "A", the sender shall be entitled to repayment of all the EMS charges paid at the time of booking after deducting the normal postage payable for an ordinary item.


  2. PARCEL SERVICE
    1. If a parcel is totally lost, totally rifled or totally damaged, the sender shall be entitled to an indemnity corresponding to the actual value of the total loss and total damage but not exceeding to an amount of Nu.2000/- per parcel.


    2. If a parcel is partially rifled or partially damaged, the sender shall be entitled to an indemnity corresponding to the actual value of the partial loss or partial damage but not exceeding to an amount of Nu.1200/- per parcel.


  3. REGISTERED SERVICE
    1. If a registered article is totally lost, totally rifled or totally damaged, the sender shall be entitled to an indemnity corresponding to the actual value of the total loss or total damage but not exceeding to an amount of Nu.300/- per article containing document and Nu. 500/- per article containing valuable item.


    2. If a registered article is partially rifled or partially damaged, the sender shall be entitled to an indemnity corresponding to the actual value of the partial loss or partial damage but not exceeding to an amount of Nu./- 150 per article containing document and Nu. 300/- per article containing valuable item.
